You Raise Me Up, Hello, Say you, Say me 等等等等。
If you're still trying to assimilate, then you're still a foreigner.
There are tons of people who don't care about pop culture or pop music, such as my friends and me. I don't give a dime to things like baseball, Taylor Swift or Kendrick Lemar. The thing about the American culture is no one cares about giving you directions on what you should like or dislike. It's called personal styles. And you can hang out only with people that fit into your likes and dislikes. My friends and I never talk about music or sports. We mostly talk about ourselves, about family and kids, sometimes politics. It's funny that I never even ran into people who likes pop culture. Maybe they are not living in the same atmosphere as I am.
It’s hard to believe I forgot to mention Keith Urban! We were at his show last August, singing our hearts out with 10,000 other fans. Funny enough, I had a similar conversation back in 2016 at this very post:
You’re spot on!
Dolly Parton
Reba McEntire
K. D. Lang
Shania Twain
Miranda Lambert
Kacey Musgrave
George Strait
Garth Brooks
Eric Church
Alabama
Alan Jackson
Luke Bryan
Luke Combs
Jess Moskaluke
Anne Murray …
《Risky Business》里 Tom Cruise 在家里跳舞时放的录音 “Old Time Rock and Roll”。
《Top Gun》里的 “Take My Breath Away” 让人想起 Tom Cruise 在 Oceanside 的落日余晖里飙车。
《Evita》里 Madonna 在阳台上唱的 “Don't Cry for Me Argentina”。

美国有太多太多的歌唱家和演奏家(Julie Andrews,John Denver, Karen Carpenter, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston,Kenny G,Yo-yo Ma……), 有顶级的音乐学院 (The Juilliard School),有顶级的交响乐团( Boston Symphony Orchestra), 有那些令人百看不厌的舞台音乐剧和音乐电影( The Sound of Music,The John Dunbar Theme, Out of Africa, The Phantom of Opera
